BIDL to receive NEA BIG READ grant for Andrew Krivak's The Bear
Grant received, many programs to come
The NEA BIG READ grant will be awarded to the Beaver Island District Library for programming surrounding Andrew Krivak's The Bear, an "end of the world" survival book surrounding a young girl and her father as the last humans on earth. As she learns about survival she is befriended by a bear.
The programming is multi-faceted including arts (writing, theater, crafts), hands on survival skills (hunting, fishing, foraging, preserving food), movies, book discussions and a virtual visit with the author himself! Watch locally as we start advertising the many programs and events.
